Gannon, what I am meaning is something similar to this. not every riddle out there has an upgrade in software , some do, some don't. for instance one of them and I can't think of which one right now but I am thinking the qwerty text doesn't go to new software, just goes to a new riddle trail. the trail as everyone knows, starts at the 1.1.1.1 address and goes from there. the first one that I have known of unless you get people s Vpc under you that have certain software is dealing with the first waterwall you gain. it isn't as consistant in the higher riddles as it is in the lower levels of what you can gain. or "unlock" if you will. one thing I would like to see implemented is the ability to like go into the forum,and then back to your VPC without having to re log in each time. that in itself should be easy enough to implement. just add a link for it. people can bitch/cuss me out as they wish. it won't be the first time it has happened and I doubt it will be the last.

thats the progression tree of the first part of the riddle trail, from what I'm gathering you want that to be completely linear?
(if the boxed out ip is to the left of another that means it leads to the one on the right)

what I am meaning is this. if the said riddle contains an ip for instance. once that ip is cracked. it would unlock a new level of software. for instance. a riddle that would go to a water wall of 0.8 the next one would lead to the 0.9 and so on. each riddle would have a way of reaching a new type of software. that software would vary but it would still be within the same type of thing.

Could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, the higher you get in software version the less frequently you'll run into IP's that have nothing but the next riddle. Pretty much, after you reach about 1.5ish level software that kind of situation becomes pretty rare (there may be an exception for whois pages, but since the IP's are already handed to you <shrugs>wink.gif.

I dunno about that. I found that out with the lower levels too. for instance Qwerty text (I think it is qwerty not real sure there correct me if I am wrong) doesn't lead to new software just another riddle. the only way I have found higher software higher than 0.9 is from vpcs who have them. with the exception of the Mounster bank...

Right, so what you need to do is continue on with the riddle trail and you won't have this issue anymore. It sounds a little like you were making a blanket judgment about how the riddle trail was set up when in reality you haven't even been through 1/5th of it.

i dont know if this has been suggested but if you are looking for ideas,look to your competition e.g (*****)
and see how they implement the same game but with diffrent outcome
instead of attacking a computer whole you attack indivigual ports and the cpu overheats instead of a hundred 10 hour processes
or how they implemeted a script programming system where you choose what happens when event occures instead of log a remote login and any actions except
clear logs.
this is just some of the game and you can clone(not copy) the ideas from it to improve slavehack and slavehack2

reset ALL and get on with it ive stopped playing this game because of all the hype and anguish of the reset reset it all and put sh2 up so we all have a level playing field all money should be reset too so No one has any upperhand on anyone please get this over with so this game dont die people will play it no matter what

  • sh2 = socialism

  • sh1 = capitalism.

  • Newbs (or poor people) love sh2( or socialism). They would love things to be more easy and less of a challenge.
    Experienced (or rich people) love sh1, or capitalism. They are rich why would they complain.

    im a newbie but i still think the game should be difficult thats why ive decided not to look up the riddle trail

    You obviously read but didn't understand the post SyNK made. You might or might not be asking for those details. Fact is, we can't make the post until WE know for certain. So until WE have those details, we can't confirm anything to you. We're not choosing not to tell you because we think we're the next Apple Inc. We're choosing not to tell you because at the minute we have nothing concrete to tell you. Until we have something concrete, we don't feel comfortable making promises.

    Suck it up and stop posting nonsense like "abandon all hope". Maybe you have. There's no reason for you to tarnish the hopes of others too.

    You want some facts? Here's what we can tell you. We have a few big ideas that we are trying to prioritize and determining which order to implement them in while still being reasonable about the ability to implement these things within a time period that is fast enough that we can guarantee they will come out when we say they will.

    All staff (including, mods, devs, admins, and toastie) have been meeting frequently the past few days discussing. Once again, please be patient.

    If you think you're the only one who wants to see progress towards the reset and SH2 you're a fucking idiot. Staff members took those positions because bottom line: they wanted to be able to help the game as much as they could. Believe me we want to see progress too. So shut up and let us get things sorted out.

    I personally talked to Toastie in IRC, he told me he had been working on SH2 pretty tirelessly, he also told me somethings they are trying to do, and, uhm, even said that ***MAYBE*** in the very near future we can be looking for a fully ***FUNCTIONAL*** beta. That's not to say it won't be buggy BUT, we will just have to wait and see, so to all you arse's rushing, just enjoy SH1 until they get more shit sorted out. KthxBai! xD.gif

    Over 3 years and it's still being planned. Anyone naive to believe anything Toastie says is one ignorant s o b. sh2 is a myth I've said it for along time I shall stick by it.

    Think this game needs a full reset i have been back playing a couple of weeks now that is all. got all my banks of which were empty full of loot far too much for me to ever be caught again.so what should i do now ? full reset will get all the old players actually playing again i am sure. bring back the good old days

    Sublime, it is not a myth, sometimes a programmer hits a wall, like when a marathon runner hits "the wall", a seemingly impassable state of work that does not seem accomplish able. Sometimes it is the Duke Nukem effect, where the game must become the absolute perfect game and the developer feels like the game is never finished. If either one of these concepts cannot be embraced by the developer and a timeline placed on the project, i fear it may never be completed. I am happy to program and update SH1 if given the chance.
